The Monastery

was opened on 1st April 2007.

Anenja Vihara is a Bhikkhuni Training-Monastery of the Theravada Tradition following the standards of the Dhamma-Vinaya, as they are laid down in the Sutta- and Vinaya-Pitaka.

The monastery is organised according to the rules of the Bhikkhuni-Vinaya which are reflected in all schedules and regulations.

Bhikkhunis who are training according to Dhamma-Vinaya and distinguish themselves by serious interst in practice are welcome to stay long term.

Nuns with any other type of ordination may stay at Anenja Vihara for up to one month.
